LOCATED at the Southern pier of East Boston, the site is an historical centre and former gateway to the world, Ships brought settlers worldwide to this point.
While the most important location historically, the area is also the the most vulnerable to climate change. Standing less than 1m above sea level, it regualarly eperiences extreme flooding.
The concept for this East Boston climate resilience plan is to create a peninsular, a new pier combining a dike and tidal energy generation scheme.
While also bringing the natural Massachusetts coastline back to Boston. The site will be a living, breathing organism that changes throughout time by encouraging life to inhabit its zones.
