A LIQUID boundary – North Holland is surrounded on all sides by water. This characteristic can be traced down to the site itself. The Marine Terrein, originaly an enclosed naval dock, derives the concept.
On an urban scale the semi-closed blocks appear to be repeated, however on ground level, the units allow for maximum accessiblity and sunlight.
Water is re-introduced, referencing the previous dockyard. A new neighbourhood requires safety and comfort: so a deep, rhythmic facade ecourages privacy,
Light materiality and facing balconies provide inhabitants with a lively social environment.
